碩士 / 國立屏東科技大學 / 企業管理系碩士班 / 94 / This study aims to explore both the firm’s competitive advantage of pelagic fishery fishing gears firms in Taiwan and the key factors of firm’s competitive advantage from customer insight, further find out the right business strategy that based on the positioning firm’s core competence, and give organization another methodology for mapping out business strategy orientation. The results indicate that (1) after extracting the observation from customers, the five major competitive advantage factors of Taiwan pelagic fishery fishing gears firms are: quality construct, price and cost construct, punctuality and delivery time construct, flexibility construct, relation and service construct. The most efficient way to upgrade the firm’s competitive advantage is to improve the following three key points; consistency of monofilament, transparency & brightness of monofilament, high tenacity rope; (2) the valuation from customer for firm’s competitive advantage factors apparently vary with the different character of the customers, this evidence gives the firms a clear segmentation to manage any demand from customers by their character; (3) the valuation sequence for firm’s competitive advantage factors are different between customer’s and firm’s side, the firms should always adhere to the preference sequence of the customers’ so as to put customer first;(4)this study starts with positioning the core competence & business strategy of four case-study corporations, then find out the gap between corporations and customers, and map out another strategy intent for filling up the gaps in between. Corporation always faces the drastic competition and the change of external environment, after corporation makes business strategy decision, moreover it is essential for a corporation to create a sharp feedback system for making quick and adequate response to the external environment, so as to keep up with the trend. The results are expected to help the firms of pelagic fishery fishing gears in Taiwan to find a solution while developing their corporate core competence and competitive advantage.
