碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 水產養殖學系 / 94 / The levels of dietary ginsenosides for maximum weight gain and immune responses of white shrimp, Litopenaeus vanamei were determined. Seven isonitrogenous and isoenergetic semi-perified diets with ginsenosides levels range from 0 to 0.5% in 0.1% increments were evaluated in the first experiment. 0.14g white shrimp was fed three times a day to satiation. After 6 weeks experiment, weight gains of juvenile shrimp fed with diet containing 0.2%ginsenosides had significantly higher than those of shrimp fed with diet without ginsenosides in the first experiment. 0.033g juvenile shrimps was used in the second experiment. The weight gains of juvenile shrimp fed with diet containing 0.2% ginsenosides had significantly higher than those of shrimp fed the other treatment groups. L. vannamei fed with diets cntaining ginsenosides ranging from 0 to 0.5% in 0.1% increments were examined for the immune responses in the third experiment. No significant differentces in oxyhemocyanin amount among different treatments. There were a maximum total haemocyte count and phenoloxidase activity in 0.5% treatment, and significantly higher than the control group. The superoxidase anion production of L. vannamei fed the diet without ginsengosides was significantly higher than that of 0.1%、0.2%、0.3% and 0.5% shrimp fed the diets containing. This study suggested that 0.2% ginsanosides included in the diet can promote shrimp growth, and dietary ginsengosides can enhance the total haemocyte count and phenoloxidase activity of the shrimp. The mechanism of how ginsenosides affect on the white shrimp immunoreaction is needed for further research.
