Optimal Selection of the Piping Construction Method of Sewerage System / 污水下水道管線工法最適化選擇之研究

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 河海工程學系 / 94 / The sewerage system helps improve the sanitary condition of the city environment, enhance the quality of the living environment, and prevent the pollution of the nearby river basin. The sewerage system is also recognized as one of the indices to measure the competitive advantage of a country. For developed countries, the construction of the sewerage system is always an important public infrastructure as it indicates the level of modernization of a city. In Taiwan, though the government has been aware of the importance of the sewerage system, there is no standard available for selecting which piping method to be applied to the sewerage system; The administration or the consulting company decides which piping method to use by convention. This consequently might increase the cost of the construction if an inappropriate piping method is chosen.
This study uses the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to investigate the factors of the piping method selection. This study proposes an analytical decision making process in which all the uncertainty factors are divided into four levels and 18 factors. A questionnaire interview is conducted to understand how government administrations, consulting companies and construction contractors evaluate the optional selection of the piping method applied to the sewerage system. The results are collected to create the performance calculation.
Through the questionnaire and AHP analysis, we find that the opencut and cover method makes a greater impact on the air pollution, noise, vibration, traffic and neighboring business than pipe jacking and shield driving methods. This indicates that the design of a sewerage system should take consideration the impact to the local environment and residences. Proper mitigation measurements should also be proposed to alleviate complaints and resistance of the local residents
