Sediment size distributions in the Tan-Shui river / 淡水河沿岸沉積物粒徑分布之研究

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 海洋環境資訊學系 / 94 / Abstract

Sediment samples were obtained from 19 stations in the Tan-Shui river in three separate seasons (Summer, Fall and Winter) between June 2005 and March 2006. Size analysis using sieves and laser particle sizer were performed. Results showed that:

(1) Particle sizes measured did not vary consistently with
the station depth.
(2) At the station located outside the river mouth at the
depth of 6m in the ocean, the d50 was about 150 慆 in
the fall and winter seasons.
(3) Size distributions at the stations near the river mouth
in the fall season and the nearby coastal gurard
stations in the summer and fall seasons were bi-modal.
(4) Several stations had marked seasonal variation in d50:
at coastal guard station d50 was 7慆 in the summer,
125慆 in the fall and 160慆 in the winter; at the Ju-
Wei MRT station 141慆 in the summer, 8慆 in the fall
and 89慆 in the winter; and at the Su-Ju-Tou pumping
station 4慆 in the summer, 77慆 in the fall and 27慆
in the winter.
(5) Examining the total rainfall in the month prior to the
sampling, it was found that there were no clear trend
in the variation of d50 in the above three stations and
the rainfall.
(6) It was also found, regardless of the seansonal
variation, the upper, lower reaches and the river mouth
region were mostly sands while the middle reach mostly
mud.
