碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 海洋環境資訊學系 / 94 / The purpose of this thesis is to discuss the sea surface chlorophyll-a (chl-a) concentration and sea surface temperature (SST) around the area of the Yun-Chang Rise in the Taiwan strait (TS) by using OrbView/SeaWiFS and NOAA/AVHRR Satellite data. It is found that the chl-a concentration is mainly higher along the coastal area and lower in the Mid-TS, Meanwhile, the chl-a is higher in winter and lower in summer. The variation of the SST is more complicate, it is always higher in the eastern part than the western part, and southern part is also higher than the northern part. Meanwhile, the spatial variation of the SST in winter is much obvious than summer. The results of the Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) analysis indicate that the chl-a concentration decreased during 1997/1998 El Ni瓨 period, and increased during the following La Ni狒 period with a half-year lag. it is also found that the SST increased during 1997/1998 El Ni瓨, and decreased
in the following La Ni狒 period, with about a half-year lag.
