碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 航運管理學系 / 94 / The industries in Taiwan are facing the drastic change by globalization and manufacturers migrated to Mainland China successively. It caused great change in industrial structure. Also the industries of information technology in Taiwan have continually moved their production plant to China and resulted in the decline in export volume. With the growth and application extensively of thin-film transistor liquid-crystal display, in 2002, the government classifies TFT-LCD industry as one of important industries which to be developed. This thesis focuses on TFT-LCD industry regarding the global logistics model and the tools of supply chain management to strengthen its utilization of their competitive advantage and global overall arrangement.
TFT-LCD industry, with an industry with huge structure and capital input extent, is quite huge compared to other industries. It faces the rapid growth in LCD TV market. The TFT-LCD factories are stepping up their pace in the investment of subsequence generation factories, in order to have a leading position in the market with keen competition. This thesis adopts a case study method, to probe into the application of global logistic management in TFT-LCD industry. It explores how do they conduct the quick response, to meet customer’s requirement on just in time delivery and reduce the manufacturing cost, through this research. This thesis expects the manufacturers of TFT-LCD in Taiwan could implement it in other area or be a solution for other industries.
