This study exams the management trends of international aquatic resource conservation; refers to other fishery countries services, and coordinates our country’s present management situation, here drafts the “Aquatic Resource Conservation Management” for Taiwan’s fishery industry and provides the government fishery department with useful information to benefit fishery industry to go on further and evermore. This study covers as:
1. Fishery is always being part of humanity must; it reveals importantly as the population unceasingly increases in the world. Hence, aquatic resource conservation and effective use of it attach importance to other countries worldwide. Ocean marine life diversity and ecological balance are gradually destroyed by overfishing, by catch, and pollution. As to implement the aquatic resource conservation measure, the safety of humanity must is being protected as well as human society and economic benefits content. Foreseeing this, international fishery management is being stricter day by day; the use of aquatic resource problems have been internationalization.
2.Although the “Fishery Law” is currently based on conservation and reasonable use of aquatic resource, promoting well-fishery-development, and improving fisherman life-style as the goals; the “Aquatic Resource Conservation Management Law” has not been established yet. The “Wild Life Conservation Law” emphasizes mostly on land creatures; not much concerns about aquatic creatures. Therefore, the two laws mentioned above are unable to effectively manage the aquatic resources of our country’s exclusively economic marine zones. Hence, this study drafts “Aquatic Resource Conservation Management” to settle the present situation.
