Potential of Hydrogen Energy for Taiwanese Marine Transportation / 氫能源應用於海運之潛力研究—以台灣為例

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 輪機工程系 / 94 / Renewable energy and hydrogen are seen as an ideal combination for environmental energy generation and can be a basis for a hydrogen economy. Hydrogen extracted from renewable sources allows for more distributed hydrogen generation and open possibilities such as application on board ship. To gain some perspective on the potential acceptance of clean alternative fuels and FCs for marine applications in Taiwan, a survey was conducted with maritime specialists in order to identify which criteria they judged as most important for the adoption of alternative fuels. The results of survey serve as information for public policy makers on the degree to which policy can or should attempt to provide guideline and incentives in shaping the attitude or behaviors of the industry players toward the application. There’s high degree of preference of renewable energy over fossil energy source for both household electricity and ship power. Despite that solar is the most favorable energy types for household electricity, hydrogen combustion (78.7%) is the most supported alternative for powering commercial ship.
