碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 商船學系所 / 94 / This study aims to discus the piracy activities upon merchant ships on the basis of the statistics of piracy activities issued by the International Maritime Organization. The researcher also proposed some approaches to cope with the piracy activities.
In light of the global piracy activities, this research specifically analyzed on piracy activities areas and piracy attacking strategies, i.e., weapons and the number of pirates. Furthermore, the deeper analysis and discussion on the piracy activities in Far East, India, Africa, America and Europe were also addressed in this paper. In addition, research also studied the anti-piracy policies among the IMO, IMB and other authorities.
