碩士 / 中國文化大學 / 資訊管理研究所碩士在職專班 / 94 / Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a kind of contactless automatic identifi-cation technology. It identifies and exchanges data by radio frequency. If RFID contact-less technical characteristics are applied to the recognizable detection of vehicles, it will have a great influence not only on transportation management but also on the admini-stration of vehicles, the traffic flow , parking, traffic police affairs and even the air qual-ity. In addition, it can also enhance the quality of transportation management.
In order to overcome the uncertain factors found in previous researches on traffic flow control, this study aims at finding the optimum traffic flow at the intersections in cities and developing a model for it by integrating RFID technology with traffic flow management.
On condition that RFID technology is used to identify the vehicles in many-to-many road area with vehicle demand, the model will instantly find out the so-lutions to the congested degree of each road interval, average traffic flow speed, maxi-mum quantity of vehicles allowed on each road, optimum combination of route options, and optimum time distribution of each traffic light at the intersections in real time, thus achieving the optimization of the traffic system.
