The sub-products which can be licensed to the buyers can produce a big profit to the company. That is the reason why many capitalist would like to invest the culture industry in recent years.
This research will mention the process of purchasing and licensing the foreign F&T products form the global view for the F&T products. We also discuss where to get the products and the marketing and capital policy of the buyers. How the buyers to promote the programmes and how they make a maximum profit in trading are our main point to discuss.
The licensed programme is one part of the culture industry. It is not only the issue of international trade, it is relative to the content quality and culture and intellectual property and broadcast law and programme marketing. Therefore, you will find the topic of the situation of TV programmes in Taiwan and issue of intellectual property and policy of purchasing foreign programmes and the policy of marketing and promoting of the licensed programmes in this research.
We would like to find the business model of promoting the programmes in Taiwan to the foreign county. On the other hand, we will show the business model of purchasing the programmes to explain the complicated situation of foreign programmes in Taiwan.
There are seven ways where the foreign programmes will enter Taiwan market: 1 Film and Television trade meeting. 2. except in the trade meeting, the programme sailing syndication of the licensee will contact directly the TV satation and agency. 3. the culture section of the foreign office in Taiwan will be an agency for the county’s programmes. 4. the agency. 5. buy directly to the foreign county.6. foreign channel to broadcast the programmes. 7. Web-TV.
Regarding the risk control for purchasing the programmes, the researcher discuss this isssue from three parts: 「the considered factors before buying the foreign programmes」, 「the protecting items in the contract to share the risk」, 「to make the maximum profit when buying the programmes」. We should find the market niche from the programmes and prices and places and promoting when we are in the step of marketing the new foreign programmes. We also need to find a good channel to broadcast the foreign programmes, then to promote them by media power to get a big profit. The non-cable TVs are limited by the self-produced law, they need not much the foreign programmes. They need to protect the local performers under the pressure of society, the golden period for the channel should telecast local programmes, therefore, the foreign programmes always telecast at the no good period.
The cable TV is not limited much by the law, they can have a complete project to manage the foreign programmes to telecast on the channel. The buyers(Cable TV, non cable TV, channel and channel agency) can choose what they need to accord the market need. The buying prices are relative to new or old programmes and popular or non-popular programmes and contract priod and telecast frequency and subscribers.
They publish first the big profit programmes and then the small profit programmes. When you buy the foreign programmes, you shold ask the saler to clear the copy right of the programmes to avoid some problems. For the sellers, they can add their revenue, but for the buyers, that will bother them much to buy the foreign programmes. For the producers, they can sell the programmes by different ways to add the revenue. It is like a gambling to buy the programmes which are not finished to produce. The buyers decide to buy the programmes by the popularity of the produced company and the actors and contents.
