碩士 / 長榮大學 / 經營管理研究所 / 95 / This research explored and analyzed the management as well as operation position of Taiwanese freight forwarders when investing the business of international shipping agents in China. It applied the technique of correspondence analysis on data analyzing as well as explanation. The findings of this research indicated that it is a good timing for Taiwanese freight forwarders to invest China’s forwarding industry for the time being; and, at the mean time, Taiwanese forwarders should also carefully set the operating strategy according to their owning advantages and shortcomings. Based on this research, it found that some forwarders focus on the service scope, some are skilled at consolidation, and some are expertise in full contain load services. Furthermore, some forwarders are developing the operation base as their major business strategy; and, contrarily, some are developing the marketing base as many as possible. Finally, this study pointed out that the key successful factors of managing forwarder business in China are service scope as well as employees. However, the Taiwanese forwarders should also develop their core capabilities that focus on consolidations or full container load services (or both) as the primary operating strategy.
