Enhancing the Precision of GPS Positioning Using the Ocean Tide Loading Correction / 應用海潮負載改正提昇GPS定位精度之研究

碩士 / 清雲科技大學 / 土木與防災研究所 / 95 / Ocean tide loading (OTL) is an very important factor for the GPS positioning, especially in the height direction. The influences of the OTL are not the same at different measuring points and the values are about several centimeters to ten centimeters. The distances from the ocean are longer, the errors from the OTL are larger.
In this study, the influences of the OTL for the GPS positioning in Taiwan were discovered. Moreover, NAO.99b, CSR4.0, TPXO.6.2 and Schwiderski models were applied to correct the OTL effects. The GPS data were downloaded via the e-GPS tracking network from Aug. 8-14, 2006. For example, the average error of GPS height direction at JUNA station is 2.72 cm. After correcting by above models, respectively, the average errors became to 2.30 cm, 2.30 cm, 2.30 cm and 2.31 cm and the precision were improved around 0.42 cm. In winter, the average error of GPS height direction at JUNA station is 1.32 cm. After correcting by above models, respectively, the average errors became to 0.85 cm, 0.89 cm, 0.86 cm and 0.84 cm and the precision were improved around 0.48 cm. The precision of height direction was improved about 30-45% and the NAO.99b is the best correcting model around Taiwan.
