A Study of lighting Environment of Street-House Restaurant in Taichung -Case Studies of Tunghai Fengchia Jingmihglst. Business Area / 台中市街屋型餐廳照明之研究-以東海、逢甲、精明商圈為例

碩士 / 逢甲大學 / 建築所 / 95 / The global warming is a very serious problem worldwide nowadays. Human beings cannot help but attach great importance to the consumption of power sources. It is an important issue and study for people to discuss how to use the natural resources effectively and also go for the Perpetual Development.
We have to treat and research more about the methods of reducing the waste of power sources from the natural lights, lamplights, even to the air conditioners of architectures.
Except air conditioners use and transportation need, people expend most of electric power on illumination in their daily lives. (According to the statistics, fifteen to twenty percent of electric power is used on edifices, and forty percent for office buildings, fifteen percent for superstores, and twenty-four percent for department stores use.)
Because the time people spend indoors is much more longer than the time they stay outside, the indoor lighting becomes an important element of the environmental quality. We also could see the importance of lighting from America and Japan who budget hundred millions on lighting research.
On the other hand, the establishment of Central Taiwan Science Park promotes and raises the relative competitiveness in the middle Taiwan. This policy proceeds to flourish all trades and professions, especially the food-and-beverage service industry. The food-and-beverage service industry is tending upwards, and these restaurants and places attach importance to lighting for creating nice environments and atmospheres. Corresponsively, this would waste lots of electric power on lighting.
Therefore, the three main shopping districts, Tunghai, Fengchia, and Jingming areas, are chosen to be the researching subjects. After classifying the restaurants into four different types, we do close-up surveys and illuminance measuring with the electronic illuminance gauge to observe and record the ways they use lighting. Furthermore, we could treat the relation between their types and lighting so that we could provide these referable papers as the information for the designers of restaurants afterward.

The main purposes of this research are as follows:
1. The relation between a restaurant and its lighting.
2. The lighting types, methods, and the lighting materials of the restaurant.
3. The illuminance analysis to the four types of restaurants.

Conclusion:
1. On the hand of the arrangement of lighting equipments and the floor plan, the Japanese restaurant is the most relative one. The Western restaurant is more relative than the hot pot restaurant. And the Chinese restaurant is the least relative.
2. On the hand of the average illuminance, the Chinese restaurant is the most relative one. The hot pot restaurant is more relative than the Japanese restaurant. And the Western restaurant is the least relative.
3. On the hand of the variety of lighting equipments, the Western restaurant is the most relative one. The Japanese restaurant is more relative than the hot pot restaurant. And the Chinese restaurant is the least relative.
4. On the hand of the variety of lighting methods, the Japanese restaurant is the most relative one. The Western restaurant is more relative than the hot pot restaurant. And the Chinese restaurant is the least relative.
