碩士 / 開南大學 / 物流與航運管理系碩士班 / 95 / This study aims to investigate what kind of internal and external environmental factors will influence the inventory management decision-making in logistics center. Taking drug/cosmetics commodities logistics company as a case, the study explores the factors to influence the inventory management from the standpoints of customer’s demand, internal logistics operations and external market situation. Focus group experts interview is employed to find out key elements to affect the inventory management in logistics center.
Regarding the issue, the study concludes the following points: (1) External consumption factor has become more important element to influence the inventory stock; the inventory decision-making system in logistics center should be well responding to environmental changes; (2) Experience from organization and personnel is having huge influence on inventory management function and performance; (3) Knowledge-based managerial mechanism is a good way to improve inventory management decision-making; (4) The inventory management of drug/cosmetics logistics center requires improvement on both quality service and quantity control; and (5) Cross-docking operation provides positive benefits for managing inventory in drug/cosmetics logistics center.
