The Empirical Studies on Resources Commitment, Capabilities and Reverse Logistic Performance for the Information Electronic Industry in Taiwan / 企業資源承諾、能力與逆物流績效之實證研究--以台灣資訊電子業為例

碩士 / 立德管理學院 / 地區發展管理研究所 / 95 / Abstract

In the field of logistics, researchers in the past put far more emphasis on forward logistics than reverse one. Regarding the daily-life operation, the business in reverse logistics was more difficult to manage and the cost was higher. Therefore, most of the enterprises focused heavy attention on system planning for forward logistics rather than reverse one. The functions and effects in reverse logistics were apparently ignored.
Whether the enterprise management performance is operated efficiently depends not only on the effects of environmental factors, but also on the capability developed by the enterprise resources. The enterprise capability is mainly developed in some functional realm. In addition, the enterprise resource commitment achieves the performance by integrating the capabilities. To facilitate the performance and attain the competition, the enterprises have to utilize some resources to develop reverse logistics.
In the time of logistics management, reverse logistics is apparently ignored. As a result, there are only few empirical studies on this field. By reviewing the literature, this study mainly investigates the relations among the enterprise resource commitment, capabilities in the light of information technology and innovation, as well as the reverse logistic performance.
The study adopts questionnaires to investigate the Information Electronic Industry in Taiwan. There were 450 questionnaires to be mailed, and 67 valid ones were returned. Therefore the valid response rate is 11.27%. The study consults the correlation analysis of Pearson and finds that the resource commitment and capabilities in terms of information technology and innovation have a significant positive influence on reverse logistic performance. Furthermore, by regression analysis, the results show: <1> Resource commitment shows an obvious difference from capabilities. <2> Capabilities show an obvious difference from reverse logistic performance. <3> Resource commitment shows an obvious difference from reverse logistic performance. The more financial resources commitment is, the better reverse logistic performance becomes.
