A Study on Competitive Advantage of Cluster of Semiconductors Industry between Taiwan and China / 高科技產業群聚之競爭優勢分析-以海峽兩岸半導體產業為例

碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 高階管理碩士在職專班 / 95 / This study is to understand the competitive advantage of the IC industry cluster between Taiwan and China in current status and predict year 2012 as well. The research model composed 6 factors including 4 factors from Diamond Analysis created by Michael Porter(1990) also add Government and Opportunity factor.
This study focused on the Taiwan senor semiconductors professional people, and with broad experience in China. So defined the study target people as at least 10 years semiconductors experience, or with working experience in China, or the title as manager or above who must make decision on business strategy and operation in a company.
The statistical tools used including descriptive statistics, Reliability& Validity analysis, ANOVA, Welch’s test, K-W test, and Factor analysis. Total 104 feedbacks received and analyzed which including 67 with China working experience. The overall IC industry cluster competitive advantage summary as following:
Most of people believed that Taiwan’s IC industry have higher competitive advantage than China in current situation. But the advantage of Government and Opportunity is not so significant.
To predict 2012 situation, China will growth very fast and the trend of advantage will be toward to China in the future. The competitive advantage of Taiwan will be loss gradually, especially in the factor of Demand Conditions, Related and Supporting Industries, Firm Strategy and Rivalry.
