The Rights of Nature- Self-description of CHEN Hsi-lung’s Poster Design / 自然的權利─陳西隆海報設計創作自述

碩士 / 國立高雄師範大學 / 視覺傳達設計研究所 / 95 / Abstract
Everyone learns and receives messages from nature with their five senses throughout the journey of life; among them, sight is the most direct and fastest method. From the viewpoint of shape, people transfer this type of message to a “shaping idea”. These ideas will be accumulated to form individual aesthetic values; and these values will then be used as the reference to learn and judge the shapes of different objects. Thus, senses are closely related to how people acquire knowledge or shaping ideas.
People will encounter all sorts of incidences where they reside and there are always long stories behind the truth of every event. “The rights of nature” is a strong concept that I have been personally studied in recent years and this concept is consistently growing. Therefore, only through transforming the deepest thoughts into the power of creation can I deliver the originality of each piece of work completely.
Through the accumulation of different shaping methods to inspire creativity, I have reconsidered new methods of shaping. From global warming and different events occurring in daily life throughout the process of creation, the artist has undergone association, simplification and transformation and applies his creativity on poster designs and works to achieve the promotion function of benign activities.
