The influence of institutions and corporation resources on network strategies: The case study of Honhai and Delta group in China / 制度與公司資源對網絡策略之影響—鴻海與台達電在大陸經營之個案研究

Mainland China fast raises not only lets us which the former days only felt the military threat, have also realized a formidable competitor's regaining consciousness in the economy.
Taiwan after for many years highly economy development, faced with the reforming opportunity, in former days the capital and the labor force crowded industry has gradually not suited present situation, therefore long ago was in the lead by the traditional industry moves supposes the factory toward Southeast Asia and mainland China to maintain the existing space; Until now strove for the survival by no longer was the only reason, mainland China already becomes the enterprise to pursue grows the remarkable another starting point, our also detectable ornamental hairpin Taiwan electronics industry manufacturer already took root in mainland China.
The electronic manufacturer of Taiwan will be influenced by institution environment of China's Mainland, such as local regulation, the norms of professional group association and Guanxi special culture cognitive et al. It will produce different strategic response and institutional process. This study integrates institutional theory and resource basic theory to explore the network strategy of Taiwanese firms in Mainland China. Adopting case study method, this research concludes several propositions based on theory and case descriptions. After surveying Honhai and Delta group in China, this research finds that Taiwanese firms’ network strategy tend to be external fusion as the local institutional environmental pressure is high. As the institutional environmental pressure becomes high the corporation resources is relatively high, the Taiwanese firms’ network strategy be internal consolidation. As the institutional environmental pressure becomes lower but the corporation resources are relatively low, the Taiwanese firms’ network strategy tends to breed resources.
