The change of compositions of phycobiliproteins under varied intensities and temperatures with two fixed cell densities of OD680nm 0.8 and 1.2 of Spirulina platensis cultures were studied. The compositions of phycobiliproteins were not affected, when they were cultured under varied temperatures (20-35℃). However, when the fixed OD680nm 0.8 of the microalgae were cultured under 150 μ E m-2 s-1 of light intensity and 20℃ for 2 days, the contents of phycocyanin and phycoerythrin increased to 1.23 and 0.65 mg/g, respectively, but the contents of allophycocyanin did not change. In comparing to those microalgae culture under low light intensity of 50 μ E m-2 s-1 for 6 days, phycocyanin and allophycocyanin reached to the highest of 2.48 and 1.25 mg/g, respectively, and for 18 days phycoerythrin reached to the highest of 0.67 mg/g. Microalgae initially incubated in the darkness for only 2 days resulted considerable amount of 0.60 mg/g of phycoerythrin. However, this dark culture did not affect content of phycocyanin and allophycocyanin.
