Attractant addition in practical grouper feed to improve the low palatability of fish meal substitution with plant protein / 誘引物質添加在實用石斑魚飼料中以改進植物性蛋白取代魚粉之低嗜口性

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 水產養殖學系 / 95 / The present study is designed to investigate the effects of different attractants supplemented in feed to improve the palatability of replacing fish meal with high ratio of plant protein in practical grouper feed.
Experiment 1-1 was to find the most suitable method for grouper to test attractant. The methods were multiple runway mode、drum type and peck bait mode. In the end it found that the peck bait mode is the most stable mode for grouper to test attractants. Experiment 1-2 was used to test bite number of grouper fed with 25 attractants with 4 replicates. Krill meal、Aspartic acid and Lysine were more stimulating for grouper and significantly higher compared to other attractants. Thus they were added to basal diet in the growth experiment, which contained 18% fish meal protein and 29% plant protein. The 7 different attractants were supplemented into the basal diet with 1% level. Another two were 0.5% Squid meal + 0.5% Shrimp meal and 0.5% Aspartic acid + Lysine. Fish meal diet contained 36% fishmeal protein and 11% plant protein. There are 11 treatments in growth experiment. The result of FI (% initial weight) and WG% showed that fish meal was the best, second was Asp+Lys. Basal diet was significantly lower than the others. Fish meal diet was the best for FE and significantly higher than other groups. The result of condition factor showed that fish meal and treatments with attractant were significantly higher than Basal. The supplementation of attractants reduced hepatosomatic index and viscerasomatic index, expect krill meal. Intraperitoneol fat ratio showed no difference. The plasma glucose, triglycerides and cholesterol of basal treatment were higher than those of fish meal treatment. The supplementation of attractants decreased plasma triglyceride and is significantly different with Basal, but plasma cholesterol shows no difference, except fish meal treatment.
In experiment 2, fish were fed the 11 treatment diets alternately, where one diet was administered for 3 days and subsequently changed to another test diet for further 3 days. The FI (% initial weight) were observed and compared between 2 diets. The standard measurement is the number that a diet can replace another in a treatment and also whether it can be replaced by other diets in a treatment. Accordingly, the average RFI% (Relative feed intake %) was used to check the replacement level by ranking. The result of attractive ability showed Asp+Lys was the best, second was Acetes. The two were easy to replace the other diets. The worst was shrimp meal, and it was hard to replace other diets.
If compared with basal diet. The supplementation of attractants can improve growth and feed intake. But it is still significantly lower compared to fish meal diet. The alternate feed experiment can compare and check the rank for attractants.
