碩士 / 國立臺北教育大學 / 音樂教育學系碩士班 / 96 / Both Karl Czerny and Stephen Heller are illustrious piano teachers in 19th century. They composed a great deal of piano etudes during their teaching career.
This research mainly aims at analyzing and comparing two sets of similar degree piano etude teaching material: Czerny《30 études de mécanisme》op.849 and Heller《30 étude progressives》op.46.
This carries on the discussion by five chapters: Chapter Ⅰ is comprised of 4 sections, which introduces the research motives and purposes, the questions to be answered, the research scope and limitations, and term definition. Chapter Ⅱ is comprised of 3 sections, which separately discusses the related literature of "the piano etude", " the using principle of the etude in piano teaching ", " Karl Czerny and Stephen Heller’s piano works ". Chapter Ⅲ is comprised of 2 sections, which introduces the research technique and content, and research steps . Chapter Ⅳ is comprised of 3 sections. The first two sections carry on the analysis and edition comparison of every piece at Czerny《30 études de mécanisme》op.849 and Heller《30 étude progressives》op.46 alone. ; The third section aims at comparing "the mechanical skill" and "the interpretation skill" carries on two works. Chapter Ⅴ is comprised of 3 sections, which canvasses for the above each chapter, and proposes the researcher’s suggestions about the research direction in the future and finally, makes conclusions for the research.
