碩士 / 國立臺灣藝術大學 / 多媒體動畫藝術學系 / 95 / The simulation of the ocean has been a challenge in computer animation for years. To an independent animator or artist, the simulation of ocean is a quite high-threshold task.
This paper tries to surveys several kinds of commonly used ocean models, introduce the wave theories in the ocean model, and offer some ideas and suggestions to those who are interesting in wave simulation. Instead of elaborating difficult Mathematics equations behind the models, it analyzes and emphasizes more on the pluses and minuses of various kinds of ocean models with the animation elements.
This study analyzes the relatively mature hair animation system in MAYA, finds out the suitable mechanism and further applies it to the difficult sea water animation. In addition, particle system with expression control is embedded to enhance sea surface animation. Finally, customized graphics interface design is also integrated to help independent animators conveniently animate and visualize their animation task.
