碩士 / 國立臺灣科技大學 / 工業管理系 / 95 / This research aims at the bus holding strategies for the design of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) transferring system in a terminal station with platform constraints. We develop and evaluate a simulation model that the goal of bus holding strategies in the model is to reduce passengers waiting time and traveling time.
In order to enhance the performance of the MRT transfer system, we consider nineteen bus holding strategies that use different traveling time functions of vehicles at different time intervals with platform constraints in the transfer models to construct proposed transfer models in the MRT transfer system. Real-time traffic information acquired by intelligent transportation systems (ITS) help us to make input for the simulation model and we test this model with real-world traffic problem that the data of vehicles was collected by the Taipei e-bus system.
Adding holding strategies in the transfer system is significantly more successful than original traffic model. The simulation results show that executing the holding strategies in the transfer system indeed improve the performance of MRT transfer system by reducing traveling time and waiting time for passengers.
