Measuring Treatment Effectiveness of Various Coagulants on Algae Synthetic Water with the Nephelometric Turbidity Meter / 以光學式濁度計探討不同混凝劑對含藻人工原水處理效果之研究

碩士 / 國立聯合大學 / 環境與安全衛生工程學系碩士班 / 95 / In the current water treatment plants in Taiwan, the coagulation and filtration are the principally processes to algae removal for the water from reservoirs and lakes. Since the characteristic of algae floc is too light to precipitate, they often blocked up the filtering pools in water treatment plants. Therefore, these phenomena also increase the load to the following filtration process.
In this study, the PACl, PASiC and PAFS will be as the coagulants in algae synthetic water (Chlorella sp.) to understand whether the ability of algae or turbidity removal is related to the existence of silicon or Fe. The coagulation result indicate it is not good for add PACl as coagulant to treat the algae synthetic water. But on contrast, PASiC and PAFS get relatively good result for turbidity removal after coagulation. This result also shows according from the phenomenon of silicic and aluminum co-polymerization, the coagulant of PASiC and PAFS can increase the ability of floc settling speed. Especially, PAFS have aluminum and iron ions and under middle hydrolysis, this coagulant can assistance the floc form fast and closely in coagulation process. The next, besides conventions turbidity analysis, we also using the nephelometric turbidity meter, we can be found the size of the floc is relates to the turbidity amplitude in the flocculation period. According to this idea, try to change Gt value in coagulation process. The result shows that lower G value can get better removal efficiency.
