The Relation between Organizaion structure Change and Organization Performance A Study on Investigaion Unit of Taiwan Coast Guard / 海巡署偵緝組織結構變革與組織績效關聯性之研究

碩士 / 世新大學 / 行政管理學研究所(含博、碩專班) / 95 / Situated in the critical change phrase, Taiwan is gradually loosing its “creative” advantage and the “delicate quality and centralization” concept has instead become the booming target for most enterprises. In the case, the greatest challenge coming to the unit of TCG now is how to aptly adjust to the ceaseless changeable environment. Therefore,when the current structure of unit of TCG cannot meet the movement and lead to negative consequences, such as delayed decision-making, inferior quality, uncreative responses and the emergence of obvious conflicts, appropriate alternations in the unit of TCG must be immediately implemented.

In order to respond the future organization reform in Exclusive Yuan and promote the organization performance, the key issue for those who work in the changeable and challengeable circumstance in TCG should be how to improve the organization flexibility, increase the capability of rapid response, create organizational visions, and reach the goal of sustained development in accordance with changes within the unit of TCG. Based on a variety of relevant literatures, this study uses five independent variables: “division of labor,” “formalization,” “integration,” “emphasizing centralization and decentralization,” and “coordination.” The dependent variable is “organization performance after reform,” which is consist of “work effectiveness,” “service quality,” and “the capability of solving problems.” Furthermore, the study is to explore their relationships.

The findings from this study are that gender and working department do not generate difference on organization performance, but service length and positions do. Moreover, above independent variables have significant differences on organization performance after reform. Therefore, the research proposes several suggestions on organizational reform for the investigation unit of TCG.
