How to Motivate Logistic Drivers in Franchise Business / 收入、信任與尊重~如何激勵連鎖加盟運輸業司機

This company is a franchise carrier that was established by a convenience chain store to support its logistics. The franchise system of this carrier is also a copy of the system in convenience chain store. In order to motivate the franchisees, the company has tried many ways to encourage the franchisees to improve the quality of service. According to the experience, it is found that “money” is the most effective way to motivate the franchisees. However, since the customers are not willing to increase their cost in logistics, there is a urgent need for the company to find other effective motivation methods.
In order to find out what can motivate the carriers, the research method of interview and qualitative research has been used. The data demonstrate in three parts of how the franchisees think. The first part is about how the franchisees see themselves in the job of carriers. . The second part is about how the franchisees see the franchise systems. Finally, the third part is about how the franchisees see the management of the company. According to the data, The franchisees of franchise carrier understand that the career of driver is a position with low social statues and short life cycle. And this is also why they expect to get higher income from this job. Moreover, most of them expressed that the main reason why they join the franchise carrier is to get a stable job. Nevertheless, it seems that the franchiser is not able to give what the franchisees want. The evidence shows what the franchisee want are fairness, being informed, support and trust and respect. The data shows that many franchisees regard that respect is more important than income. For most of them, though money can be a huge incentive to join the company, but not getting enough support and trust seems to be the main reason why the franchisees leave the company. To sum up, apart from the financial benefit, respect appears to be what the franchisees want from the franchiser.
