碩士 / 逢甲大學 / 土木工程所 / 96 / In this thesis, both liquefaction potential (LP) and liquefaction settlement potential (LSP) were evaluated for lands reclaimed from the sea in Taichung and Taipei ports, separately. The whole evaluation process consists that (1) Evaluation of a design earthquake such that the most probable earthquake, earthquake magnitude, attenuation equation, and the peak ground acceleration are to be determined; (2) By using a computer program coded by my advisor, evaluations of LP and LSP by adopting three simplified methods proposed by Seed, T-Y, and JRA individually. Results from this thesis reveal that (1) Both Taichung and Taipei ports preserve LP and LSP when the design earthquake occurs in the future; (2) Because the knowledge is insufficient, liquefaction resistant works should be provided, yet not to be considered, for some portions in both ports; and most of the improved areas, so far, need to extend their remedial depths.
