碩士 / 國立高雄應用科技大學 / 國際企業研究所 / 96 / Business expatriates play important role in the process of internationalization through the gathering of overseas market information. Previous research has suggested the potential influence of distance factors on employee overseas adaptation. This study tries to extend concept of distance influences and proposes the existence of psychic distance. Further, this study also investigate the relationship between employee psychic distance and overseas adaptation from empirical investigation of 112 Taiwanese expatriates in Mainland China and Southeast countries, and finds that: individualism positively affects work adaptation; power distance negatively affect work adaptation; masculinity positively affect interaction adaptation; location advantage positively affect work adaptation and general adaptation.
