The Impact of Globalization on Cross-Cultural Adaptation-Using Working Holiday Sojourners in Australia and New Zealand as a Case Study / 全球化對短期居留者從事海外短期職工之跨文化適應之影響

碩士 / 銘傳大學 / 國際事務研究所碩士班 / 96 / Because of the increasing of global mobility, more and more young people want to experience the foreign country culture and spend limited expense at the same time, no matter when they have short-term travel or study aborad. The international society also hold positive attitude to encourage young people to enlarge their international view and travel or study around the world. Nowadays, there are some young people have a short-term job and travel at the same time. They experience, repect, and adapt the foreign culture, increase the language ability, and increase life experiences by working at foreign country.

  This study based on analysis the issue of the impact of cross-cultural adaptation for the sojourners who has working holiday overseas from globalization. To conclude the factors that the sojourners who adapt the foreign environment, life, and culture or not. Using quantitative and qualitive research methods at the same time to examine the traditional cultural theory on these young people is suitable or not.

  The main results of this study are: (1) The result overthrows the traditional cultural theory. (2) Because of globalization, the culture value of the sojourners who has a short-term job overseas has already changed. (3) The sojourners would change their behaviors to adapt the environment, culture, society, and customs of foreign country.
