碩士 / 國立中興大學 / 獸醫公共衛生學研究所 / 96 / Fish meat is the one very important source of animal protein that cat needs, to examine the trace metal contents in the canned fishes for cats that sell in the market can be taken as reference data in monitoring the safety of the pet food and the pollution of the water environment where the fish meat came from. In order to understand those trace metal contents in the fish cans for cats that sell in the market these days, this research has conducted a test upon tuna, skipjack and sardine three different kinds of fish cans content in a total of 165 pieces of specimen that were sell in the pet shops in Taiwan area, included 99 fish muscle specimen (54 pieces originated from Japan, 45 pieces from Thailand) and 66 pieces of non-solids specimen (36 pieces originated from Japan, 30 pieces from Thailand), to analysis the trace metal contents of cadmium, chromium, nickel and lead. First using the traditional treatment of heating up with nitric acid to eliminate upon the specimen, then with graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometer to examine the contents upon four trace metals. The analysis result indicated that the fish muscle (non-solids) in tuna, skipjack and sardine, the content of cadmium average out 30(7), 20(3), 22(8) ng/g respectively; the content of chromium average out 15(12), 17(12), 38(17) ng/g; the content of nickel average out 3(3), 10(6), 32(14) ng/g, and the content of lead average out 3(1), 1(1), 8(not detected) ng/g. Compared the metal contents of fish muscle on these three fish cans for cats, tuna can has the highest cadmium contents, and sardine can has the highest chromium, nickel and lead. Compared its originated country, the trace metal contents of fish muscle and non-solids in canned tuna, the average contents of cadmium and chromium Thailand came out higher than Japan; yet no significant differences in the content of nickel and lead.
