Implementation of Power Supply and Monitoring Circuits for an Underwater Telemetry System / 水下遙測系統電力與監測電路之研製

碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 系統及船舶機電工程學系碩博士班 / 96 / This thesis compares the characteristics of secondary batteries used for the underwater system in order to find a proper power source that is suitable for the system. Moreover, the low-cost integrated circuit (IC) and buck-type converters are used to obtain the required voltage levels for the devices in the system such as the underwater acoustic modem, single board computer and vertical line array hydrophone with condition amplifiers. The voltage and current of the batteries in the system are detected by sensors and the residual energy of the lead-acid batteries is estimated by the Coulometric measurement. Moreover, a temperature sensor IC AD590 and a relative humidity device HMS-C2-M3 are used to check whether a seawater leak occurs in the system. The data of the battery residual capacity, temperature and humidity in the system are processed by a single-board computer and delivers to the user by RS-232 through the underwater acoustic modem. Thus, users can remotely monitor the power usage, temperature and humidity of the underwater telemetry system through the LabVIEW control interfaces.
