Distinction between Stainless Materials for the Propulsion Shaft of High-speed Vessel by using cell reaction Method / 利用電池效應測試法分辨高速船舶推進軸系中不鏽鋼材質之研究

碩士 / 國立成功大學 / 系統及船舶機電工程學系碩博士班 / 96 / In Taiwan, most propulsion shafting system for high-speed Vessel uses the materials stainless steel SUS630, sometimes SUS316, SUS316L and SUS304 stainless steel as well. Although these four different but frequently used stainless steels appearances look similar, but the prices, physical properties, and chemical properties are totally different. The major of this research is to differentiate these four similar appearance kinds of stainless steels by using each of the different chemical elements, and use the voltage produced from cell reaction.
Before the diagnosis way to define different materials are use XRF. XRF can get the proportions of each element but besides sending the materials to examination center, even simple portable XRF cost $200,000. If only want to estimate the material easily and economically, and then we need to use the change of chemical method to define the type of alloys.
In this research, we compare different materials stainless steels by using different reagents produced voltages, instead of using its chemical way to accelerate reactions then define by colors and products. This way can reduce the damage for materials causing from accelerate reactions.
