There are two steps of how the posters are selected. Firstly, posters which ink was used were selected from all the posters by a group of specialists. Secondly, specialists categorized all the work according to KJ process. The findings, according to how ink was used, are categorized into six categories. They are as follows: 1) gradation, 2) natural strokes 3) words 4) line drawing 5) copy and presentation 6) special skills, among them thirteen minor categories are divided.
As for personal creativities, most work was based on life experiences. Therefore, the theme, “2008 Faith, Taiwan Life”, was set to define all the graphic designs according to how tradition resources were used. All the works were examined how each design performs traditional arts with ink, and were analyzed to find out which one fits the theme and expresses the local cultures the best.
