碩士 / 國立高雄師範大學 / 地理學系 / 96 / The shore platform is well developed in Penghu Islands and the width of platform is up to more than 3km wide at low tide. However, the distribution and development of shore platform in research area is different significantly: NE-wide, SW-narrow, the shore platform in the sheltered that the energy of wave is quite weaker than the windward (NE) is well development. This implys that wave is not the primary control only on the development of shore platform in Penghu. According to the result of field investigation of the morphology of shore platform, rock strengths, structure, initial landform, and the analysis of wave climate , the development of shore platform in the open sea area is related significantly to rock strengths and wave energy, and local area may be influenced by initial landform.The shore platform in the sheltered implys that rock strengths and wave should be not the cause.This article infers that so wide shore platform in the sheltered may result form low and gentle initial landform and weathering process.
