碩士 / 國立屏東商業技術學院 / 經營管理研究所 / 96 / Foreign investment has become an important trend of global economy. However, in
recent years, domestic foreign direct investment (FDI) study mostly focused on entry model or
timing. The study on enterprise foreign investment commitments is scarce. This research
proposes that enterprise ownership advantages and local environmental factors would have an
impact on an enterprise’s foreign investment. On enterprise ownership advantages factor, we
analyzed the variables of enterprise scale, enterprise internationalization experience and
enterprise performance. On local environmental factor, we analyzed the variables of local
market scale, workforce abundant degree, unemployment rate and inflation rate.
The analysis sample was collected from 56 public traded companies that provide foreign
investment data of Taiwan computer and peripheral equipment industry from 2005 to 2006.
The sample consists of 293 FDI data of 53 companies. The results indicate that:(1) the local
workforce (2) the local inflation rate (3) the enterprise scale (4) the enterprise
internationalization level (5) the performance, all can influence enterprise’s foreign investment
commitments.
