The Research of Taiwan Sailing Boat Sport Development – the sample of Kaohsiung / 台灣帆船運動發展之研究—以高雄市為例

碩士 / 國立屏東教育大學 / 體育學系 / 96 / Taiwan is rich of water resource and has potential of developing recreative water sports. Thus Sailing Boat Sport had carried out for thirty years from Chinese American Guo-Hung Xue returned Taiwan in 1975. At beginning, this king of sport was thriving but it has been on the downgrade afterward. Recently, our government has realized the important as be a maritime state and endeavored to promote maritime sports. The purpose of this investigation was to probe the development and origin of Kaohsiung Sailing Boat Sport and further to make conclusions.
The case study adopted Literature-Analysis、Historical Research Method and Fieldwork Research to completely analyze and generalize the collected data. The results were as follows:
1. In 1978, Shi-Hzuwan Sailing Boat Club was built with an organized system which established reason was on the basis of Zheng-Feng Zhan’s love for Kaohsiung.
2. Kaohsiung sailing boat sport was declined for losing its own aquatic because of the build of National Sun Yat-sen University. But this sport was enlivened when it was included as an Taiwan athletic meet competition event. Even in 2003, Kaohsiung education bureau regarded sailing boat sport as main aquatic activity.
3.Kaohsiung city sailing boat sport’s activities aquatic position was gathered in Shi-Hzuwan、Love River and Lotus Lake. The following ways were held to popularize the sport:
a. To hold sailing boat training courses via school of learning sailing boat.
b. To encourage residents to experience the sport.
c. To hold Maritime Capital Cup sailing boat competition.
4. The problems that Kaohsiung city sailing boat sport had encountered:
a. The sailing boat organization was not integrity.
b. Lack of facilities and professional training base.
c. Love river area was still not divided clearly for use right.
d. Lack of sponsors for local competition.
5. Rich tourism resource and convenient traffic let Kaohsiung city has successful potential of developing tourism sports, especially with the support of our government.
