The study on protozoa Euplotes woodruffi for living food of the orange spotted grouper (Epinephelus coioides) larvae / 原生動物游仆蟲作為點帶石斑魚苗餌料之探討

碩士 / 國立屏東科技大學 / 水產養殖系所 / 96 / Three experiments were carried out to develop the culture conditions of small size living food of ciliate protozoa, Euplotes woodruffi and to substitute for the fertilized eggs of Pacific Oyster, Crassostrea giga as the early live food for rearing the larvae of red spot grouper, Epinephelus coioides.
In the first experiment, the effects of different salinities, temperature ,and live food on the growth of ciliate protozoa, Euplotes woodruffi were studied. Growth was observed within the temperature range of 20-40 ℃, with the highest survival between 20 ℃ and 35 ℃ ,and within the salinity range of 10-50 psu, with the highest survival above 14 and 50 psu. The highest growth of living food is Tetraselmis chui and the lowest is Nannochloropsis oculata.
In the second experiment, four kinds of microalga were used in ciliate protozoa, Euplotes woodruffi enrichment, then the ciliate was used in larval culture of red spot grouper, Epinephelus coioides. Results showed that among the four kinds of microalgae, Isochrysis galbana tml had good effect on the larval culture. Commercially available the fertilized eggs of Pacific Oyster, Crassostrea giga was also included in the study for comparison. The similar survival on the larval culture between ciliate E. woodruffi and oyster fertilized eggs.
