碩士 / 國立台北護理學院 / 旅遊健康研究所 / 96 / Deep sea water (DSW) is regarded as one important resources to agriculture, fishery, and food production in many countries, especially in America and Japan. In addition, some of the applications of DSW resources are within tourism industry such as theme parks and recreational resorts recently. However, the applications of DSW resources are still limited in Taiwan. Hence, the purpose of in this research is to explore the applications of DSW to tourism industry in Taiwan. According to the findings of this research, wellness tourism based on DSW resources may be a new tourism product that can be designed to promote in Taiwan.
In addition, the willingness to pay (WTP) is employed in this study to estimate potential price from wellness tourism based on DSW resources. The WTP, one approach of the contingent valuation method (CVM), employs hypothetical questions to elicit respondents’ WTP for a specified situation. Moreover, ‘the payment card’ format is used in this study and Hualien County is selected as the research site. The CV question used in this survey provides a detailed description of the thirteen hypothetical scenarios, which are based on the appropriate activities and itinerary products designed for Hualien County. Finally, the parameters that will influence the price of WTP are also discussed.
