The characteristic of temperature and salinity of Kuroshio water in the Luzon Strait during 1990~2004 / 1990~2004年期間黑潮水在呂宋海峽之溫鹽特性

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 海洋環境資訊學系 / 96 / The purpose of this thesis is using World Ocean Atlas 2005 (WOA05) historical hydrographic and National Center for Ocean Research (NCOR) hydrographic data to investigate the characteristic of temperature and salinity of Kuroshio Water in the Luzon Strait during 1990~2004 periods. The analyzed results indicated that the water temperature at the depth of 250m at the study locations (Latitude 20.5 oN and Longitude 117.5-124.5oE) of Longitude 119oE, 121oE and 123oE, were very stable in the whole year and the sea-water temperatures were 14℃, 16℃ and 18℃, respectively. The result obtained from the hydrographic data of the World Ocean Atlas 2005 (WOA05) is the same as that of the National Center for Ocean Research (NCOR).
The month-average salinity data of WOA05 indicate that the Kuroshio Water (salinity >34.8psu) can intrude to the area of Latitude 20.5 oN Longitude 122.5oE. In spite of that, a minimum value of salinity (salinity <34.3psu) of the water mass can be found more than six months during the whole year in that area. The Kuroshio Water (salinity >34.8psu) intrusion to Luzon Strait only can be seen at the area of Latitude 20.5 oN and Longitude 121.5oE from the NCOR data. In addition, the minimum value of salinity of the water mass appeared in the WOA05 data was not observed in the NCOR data.
