Organotin Compounds of Oyster in the Dongshin and Budai Fishing Harbor, Chiayi County, Taiwan / 嘉義縣東石港與布袋港牡蠣體內有機錫研究

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 海洋環境資訊學系 / 96 / In order to understand the organotin contents of the oyster and evaluate the food hazard for consumers, the present study determined the organotin contents of oysters collected from the Dongshin and Budai harbors in Chiayi county by means of four seasons sampling. In addition, the organotin concentration in seawater was also determined. The results indicate that the organotin concentration of oyster collected from the Budai harbor was generally higher than that of the Dongshin harbor. The organotin concentrations of oysters collected in the both harbors were higher in the winter season and lower in the autumn season.
The organotin concentrations of oysters in the both harbors observed in the winter and autumn seasons were as follow: the Budai harbor, 145.89-215.85 ng/g and 65.84-123.03 ng/g; and the Dongshin harbor, 40.80-174.43 ng/g and 26.41-45.40 ng/g . With the exception of autumn season in the Dongshin harbor, the value of the butyltin degradation index (BDI) found all surveys was smaller than 1, suggesting that tributyltin(TBT) is the dominant species of the organotin compounds of the oysters. In contrast, the value of BDI found in the autumn season in the Dongshin harbor is generally greater than 1, indicating that monobutyltin(MBT) and dibutyltin (DBT) are the dominant species of the organotin compounds of the oysters
The organotin concentrations of oysters at the both harbors found in spring and summer seasons were: the Budai harbor, 126.64-186.64 ng/g and 63.04-157.21 ng/g; and the Dongshin harbor, 68.37-118.24 ng/g and 68.61-118.06 ng/g. The minimum concentration of organotin in bivalves hazardous to human health is approximate 380 ng/g. The organotin concentration found in all samples of the present study was generally lower than the regulation value.
The concentration of monobutyltin in dissolved and Particulate phases at the both studied harbors was higher than tributyltin. The both concentrations in the dissolved and particulate phases of the Budai harbor were: MBT, 7.19-32.59 ng/L (dissolved) and 110.34-191.91 ng/g (particulate); and TBT, 5.56-7.04 ng/L (dissolved) and 68.91-99.19 ng/g (particulate). Both values found in the Dongshin harbor were: MBT, 6.29-24.43 ng/L (dissolved) and 44.91-187.11 ng/g (particulate); and TBT, 4.88-6.62 ng/L (dissolved) and 18.86-85.80 ng/g (particulate). In addition, the value of BDI found in the dissolved and particulate phases of seawater was generally greater than 1, indicating that monobutyltin(MBT) and dibutyltin (DBT) are the dominant species of the organotin compounds of seawater
