A Content Analysis on the Marine Education in the Textbooks of Social Studies in Junior High School / 國中社會領域教科書中海洋教育之內容分析

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 教育研究所 / 96 / This study adopted the methods of literature analysis, content analysis and group discussion. The main purposes of the study analyzed the content of marine conception in the ninety-five year Nani, Hanlin and Knsh social studies’ textbooks of junior high school. The conclusion of the study was as follows:
1. The distributive conditions of marine conception
(1)The highest percentage of marine educational contents was Knsh textbooks.
(2)It was extremely unequal that each edition presented in the educational contents.
(3)Each edition presented more marine educational contents in first and sixth textbooks.
(4)The classifications that marine educational contents of Knsh textbooks contained were relatively wide.
(5)“The other kind“ of each edition was about the triple of “the marine conception”.
2. The distributive conditions of marine contents
(1)The distributive conditions of each edition
(a)As far as the marine resource was concerned, Hanlin textbooks were relatively wide.
(b)As far as the marine ecology was concerned, Knsh textbooks were relatively wide.
(c)As far as the marine protection was concerned, Knsh textbooks were relatively wide.
(d)Concerning of the marine exploitation, Nani textbooks were relatively wide.
(e)As far as the marine culture was concerned, Nani textbooks were relatively wide.
(2)The distributive conditions of each theme axle:
(a)People and space
(i)Marine had an influence on the places and people's living patterns.
(ii)The marine transportation influenced resource exchanging, economic development and population distribution.
(b)People and time
(i)To know the evolution of Taiwanese, China, world and marine histories.
(ii)In the present and the past, marine played a role on the interactional relationships.
(c)Significance and value
(i)The morals, arts and religions influenced people's value and behavior to the marine.
(d)Production, distribution and consumption
(i)To know the industrial structure at all levels of marine.
(ii)To explore the influences that the marine economic activity brought.
(e)Global connection
(i)To know the influences of the international marine regulation.
(ii)Causal relationship of the global marine subject.
The suggestions of the study were as follows:
1. To design curriculum
(1)To design the marine educational materials according to the social demand.
(2)Each field of Grade 1-9 Curriculum should have the ideal and contents of marine education.
(3)To edit materials containing of the range of the whole marine educational contents.
2. Suggest to teachers
(1)The affection and action of marine education would need teachers to be guided.
(2)To put emphasis on criticizing thinking when teachers teach.
3. Common suggestion to the publishing agencies
(1)Each publishing agency should form the content structure of marine education, and then compile the teaching materials.
(2)Each edition should increase the contents of marine protection.
