The Study on Turnover Intention of Taiwanese Seafarer / 臺灣地區商船船員離職傾向之研究

碩士 / 海洋大學 / 商船學系所 / 96 / Navigating fields feature in long working time, bad working surroundings, long time away from home, and so on. During the time of global shortage in seafarer supply , the quitting of Seafarer has become a common phenomenon in domestic shipping industry, and has aroused wide attention from supervisors of every shipping institution.
This research inducts all factors related to Seafarer’s departing by field questioning. According to the information and preferences, I used SPSS software to analyze the corelation among leading behavior, working features, working satisfaction, and departing inclination. The results are as follows:
1.The Seafarer-departing reasons indicate that seafarers
regard them as the most effective factors are as follows:
family, social relationship, physical and health, other
life plans, too heavy workload, other work opportunities
and wage problems.
2.In fact, leading behavior do not affect turnover tendency
directly. But we have found a positive effect between
"considerate leading style” and “work satisfaction”
obviously. Therefore, we can assume that the turnover
tendency is affected indirectly by the degree of work
satisfaction
3.Departing inclination gets lower, if the seafarers could
find the values and goals of their works and affirm their
works’ meanings.
