A Study on Shipping Policy of Taiwan / 我國航務政策之探討

碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 商船學系所 / 96 / Taiwan is an Island Nation. It lacks of natural resource;the export-oriented trade play a plays a very important role in its economy accordingly.
Taiwan lies on the hub of shipping route in Western Pacific Ocean;furthermore, it situates between superpowers of United State People’ Republic of China, and economic monster, Japan If would affect the balance of power.
This study analyzes the literature of Taiwan shipping policy;it emphasizes the system of harbor policy, nation cargo carried by its flag vessels, shipping transportation league, shipping transferring center, island-around sea transportation, and its scattering island’ transportation policy. Hopefully, this will submit an optimized shipping policy Taiwan economy.
These submissions are as follows;
(1) an exclusive organization for shipping to be established.
(2) CPC and Taipower shipping companies to be ratified, to fulfill national cargo carried by national vessels.
(3) Both sides of Taiwan straits, direct shipping transportation to be carried out thus might save money and time.
(4) Capability of Kaoshiung transferring center to be enforced.
(5) Harbor management to be enforced, harbor rate to be reduced
(6) Subsidies of scatter island’s transportation to be continued.
