碩士 / 國立臺灣海洋大學 / 商船學系所 / 96 / In recent years, the wireless network industry has developed rapidly. From IEEE 802.11a/b/g standard to IEEE 802.11n standard, the Wireless Local Area Network(WLAN)becomes a common technology.
This thesis analyzes WLAN IEEE 802.11n present situation and technique, and also measures, through 802.11n AP and wireless card, its security, signal strengths, and throughputs. The experiments simulating environments of accesses and cabins on ships demonstrate that signal strengths, throughputs and security of 802.11n are better than those of early 802.11a/b/g.
This thesis also discusses wireless technologies and relative applications on particular structure and space admeasurements of harbors or ships. Finally, the thesis suggests direction of future establishment of wireless network environments at harbors or ships and comparable 3G and WiMAX systems for WLAN.
