Planning and Evaluation of Taxi Facilities for Intermodal Stations / 複合運輸場站計程車候車設施之規劃與評估

碩士 / 國立臺灣大學 / 土木工程學研究所 / 96 / The design of taxi facilities for intermodal station is based on the concept of people-oriented and user-friendly. However, it was a violation for the design of current stations in Taiwan such as Taipei Main Station, which is resulted from the lack of the planning and design guidelines of taxi facilities. Summarizing guidelines and exploring differences between domestic and international inter modal stations through field survey, it is found that international stations have better performance on seamless journey for passengers, locating taxi facilities internally, standing alone moving lines and the space of transfer modes. According to the design principles identified, this study proposes schemes to improve the taxi stand at Taipei Main Station and evaluate benefit for taxi passengers, taxi drivers, the authorities of the station, the environments surrounding station and other transfer modes. The evaluation results have shown that these schemes reduce the transfer gap in passengers around 70%, decrease delay around 20% in taxi drivers, diminish negative impact on station surroundings around 75%, increase efficiency 16% upward in other transfer modes, and save redundant management cost in the authorities of the station. It concludes that these schemes improve transfer efficiencies and safeties for passengers and all of stakeholders indeed. Results of this study can be considered as a useful reference for development of planning and design manual of intermodal station.
