The Current Development and Innovative Trends of Barter Sites Across the Taiwan Strait / 臺灣海峽兩岸以物易物交換網站現況及創新發展趨勢

碩士 / 實踐大學 / 企業創新與創業管理研究所 / 96 / With Online auction being more mature among the e-commerce C2C modes, the Internet barter exchange has been an innovative mode in the C2C market, an innovative mode via the Internet deriving from the earlier days’ bartering concept that has been mushrooming in the markets across the Taiwan Strait, excelling the topic of how best to draw Internet browsers to barter successfully via the Internet platform to become a critical one among the internet barter sites.
The study attempts to poll the Internet users across the Taiwan Strait through a questionnaire survey to discern the Website functional requirements among the Internet barter sites and the willingness of participation among Internet browsers who have prior experience bartering over the Internet, and those who have not had prior experience of bartering over the Internet.
Findings reveal that among the cross-strait respondents polled for their experience of Internet bartering, those who spend an average of up to ten hours working on bartering-related work account for the most, with the exposure to Internet bartering among the respondents being up to one year, and the main reason that draws the respondents to continue with Internet bartering has been to get the things they want and to save money.
Of findings derived from the cross-strait respondents who have never used Internet bartering, what draws the Internet browsers keen on exploring Internet bartering and among the respondents with and without prior Internet bartering experience, in terms of the Internet barter sites’ functional requirements, has been the photos and description of an object.
The study intends to offer the analysis findings derived from the questionnaire data to the operators of the Internet barter sites as a reference point in developing the Internet barter sites’ services and functions, and also to present, based on the questionnaire analysis findings and as per general Internet browsing experience and observation, innovative development trends on cross-strait Internet barter sites, and in turn to recommend feasible site development and marketing management strategies.
