碩士 / 慈濟大學 / 教育研究所 / 96 / The purpose of this study is to explore the motif and procedures of college students participating in overseas voluntary services learning, offer suggestions and explain the influence of service learning on these students’ individuals learning growth.The research is made in interviews with the target of nine students participating in 2006 overseas voluntary services of Tzu Chi University.Based on the findings, the conclusions are: 1.The main motif of participating in service learning is learning.2.The procedures of service learning include experiences and learning of different culture, interactions with people and learning, participating in holiday home stay care and results and understanding of visits.3.The influence of service learning on individual growth is to enhance development of professional ability and individual growth, increase career exploration and choices, and better care the public affairs and social welfare.4.Suggestions on participating in overseas service learning: training before the trip, planning of the activities of service learning, and suggestions to future students participating overseas service learning.At last, based on literature analysis, research findings and conclusions, the researcher offers suggestions on overseas voluntary services service learning project, students participating in service learning and ensuing studies as the reference of promotion of future service learning activities.
