The Research on the Life Style and Oversea Travel Behavior of Elementary School Teachers in Taipei City / 臺北市國小教師生活型態與海外旅遊行為之研究

碩士 / 臺北市立教育大學 / 社會科教育學系碩士班 / 96 / The main purpose of the research was to explore the relationship between Taipei City primary school teachers’ life style and their overseas travel behavior. Through the survey of Taipei City primary school teachers from different backgrounds, this research can identify the connection between these teachers’ life style and overseas travel behavior. In order to obtain the abovementioned goals, Maslow's hierarchy of needs and related literatures would be regarded as the basis of the study which can be grounded on the questionnaire and research design. The questionnaire titled “Primary school teachers’ life style and their overseas travel behavior” was designed by the researcher. Through pilot study and validation analysis targeting Taipei City primary school teachers, the statistic results of Stratified Random Sampling were concluded as follows:

1.The life style of Taipei City primary school teachers can be categorized into three approaches: self-actualization, open-minded approach, conservative and stability. Such factors as gender, age, years of service, the highest education, marital status, status of children, average monthly income would have major influences on life style.
2.The travel motivation of Taipei City primary school teachers can be classified into four types: culture of contentment, physiology of contentment, social intercourse of contentment, and self-growth. Gender, age, years of service, marital status, status of children, average monthly income would have significant influences on travel motivation.



3.Such factors as gender, age, years of service, marital status, status of children, average monthly income would have prominent effects on travel behavior of Taipei City primary school teachers.

4.Those primary school teachers with open-minded approach have higher frequency of overseas travel and fewer travel companions and higher desire for travel plan. Those primary school teachers with self-actualization tend to have higher desire for overseas travel plan in the future. Those primary school teachers with conservative and stability of approach are apt to have lesser desire for travel plan.
