碩士 / 國立中正大學 / 台灣文學所 / 97 / Fishing proverb in Yunlin County witnesses the ancestor’s path of struggle. It is the very important basis of social creativity. However, Yunlin fishing proverb is facing the awkward situation of disappearance. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis is collecting the fishing proverbs in Yunlin County, to understand its background, content, thinking, character, value and the performance in literature. It can be offered as future teaching reference. This study focuses on four regions in Yunlin County, near the coastal area – Mailiao, Taihsi, Kaohu, and Sihhu Country. The author went to these areas and visited the local residents, then investigated and collected the local proverbs, recorded the explanations from them. Besides, this study includes other areas’ proverbs as references. Sentences using and phonetic notation follows the original sentences.
This research collects 668 proverbs. It contains former writings, countryside teaching material, and field investigation and so on….Those sentences are quoted from local people honestly. This research divides these proverbs into 16 parts, shown in the appendix 2.
This study has 5 chapters:
Chapter 1: Introduction, mainly explaining the motivation, purpose and range, and the definitions of proverbs.
Chapter 2: The research method, the category of proverbs.
Chapter 3: The outline of nature and people in coastal areas in Yunlin County.
Chapter 4: The comparison of fishing proverbs with Penghu, Kinmen, Dongshih, and Anping Country.
Chapter 5: Conclusion. Through the research this study offers Yunlin proverb research value, the society teaching value, the knowledge passing value, the fishing application value, the philosophy value, and future research and the suggestion.
